We focus not only on driving ARR/pipeline and acquiring users, but also on creating content and campaigns targeted to net new accounts and also nurturing existing teams and driving them to upgrade. Our team is growing rapidly, and includes team members focused on revenue marketing, product marketing, content creation, partnerships, ads, and lifecycle marketing.
This role is based in our Tokyo office, reporting to the Head of International Field Marketing with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Along with most Asanas, you’ll work from this office in person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. What you’ll achieve:
- Lead and collaborate with a small, dedicated team of regional marketers focused on accelerating business growth in our fastest growing market in APJ
- Own marketing-sourced pipeline target for Japan
- Develop and execute integrated strategies across the full marketing funnel, from awareness campaigns to deal acceleration to customer retention and growth. This includes owning the content strategy, third party and owned events, webinars, customer case studies and community.
- Identify unique opportunities to enhance Asana’s growth in Japan
- Partner directly with Japan sales leadership on strategic marketing initiatives that deliver business growth & customer retention
- Represent Japan market needs in global marketing planning and budget allocation discussions
- Work with Growth/Paid Media to optimise Japan-specific acquisition channels and messaging
- Partner with Product Marketing to adapt global positioning for Japanese business culture and buying behaviors
- Collaborate with Marketing Ops to report out on marketing impact in Japan
- Represent marketing at quarterly business reviews with regional leadership
About you:
- Professional working proficiency in English & Japanese essential
- 10+ years of experience in marketing ideally within a B2B SaaS environment with 5+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Strong people management: You know how to motivate and lead a team to drive business results
- You have a strong ability to think strategically and have experience in building full-funnel, integrated marketing strategies that align with business objectives.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience working closely with cross-functional marketing teams.
- You have the ability to establish yourself as a trusted marketing partner for revenue leaders.
- You have a track record of delivering measurable results and optimising marketing efforts based on data-driven insights.
- You possess strong analytical skills and can tell a narrative based on data.
- You are an effective communicator and can confidently present marketing strategies to stakeholders.
- You have a keen understanding of the nuances of the Japan market. You stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 17,852,500 JPY - 19,300,000 JPY.. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
