In the rapidly evolving landscape of technology, diversity and inclusion are pivotal to driving innovation, creativity, and sustainability. At Asana, our mission transcends beyond developing cutting-edge solutions; it also encompasses fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, or background, can thrive. As we expand our footprint into Poland, with our newest Asana office, Asana is committed to advocating for equitable hiring and supporting underrepresented communities especially in tech.
Embracing and Promoting Diversity
Asana recognizes the importance of creating safe and empowering spaces for Women, Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming (WTGNC), and LGBTQ+ individuals and is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the Polish tech ecosystem. Our strategy involves a variety of initiatives, including workshops and ongoing collaboration with local organizations, all aimed at nurturing and supporting underrepresented groups in tech.
Empowering Women in Technology at the Women in Tech Conference in Warsaw
Earlier this month, Asana had the honor of participating in the Women in Tech Conference in Warsaw – an event dedicated to promoting the participation and growth of women in the technology sector. With a steadfast commitment to gender equity, Asana's presence at the conference was not just a statement but a call to action. Asana’s booth was filled with global women leaders from our offices in Poland, Reykjavik and San Francisco – Megan Daly, Alicja Zwierzyńska, Patrycja Giermakowska, Ósk Ólafsdóttir, Sigurros Kristinsdottir, and finally Liliana Blanco Fernandez, who Leads Diversity, Belonging and Inclusion at Asana.
The conference offered an invaluable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and addressing the unique challenges faced by women in tech. Highlighting this, Asana's Tech Lead Megan Daly delivered a powerful lecture that provided the audience with a glimpse into the experience of being a woman at Asana and an opportunity to gain insights into the complex process of User Permissions Migration.
Dedicated Efforts to Support the WTGNC and LGBTQ+ Communities
Our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging is evidenced by our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) – Asana Women, Team Rainbow, Asana Gradient, Asanapac, Blacsana, and Raíz. Asana is dedicated to creating an inclusive space where everyone can experience a deep sense of belonging and contribute meaningfully to Asana’s Mission.
To this end, Asana Poland plans to organize targeted workshops and events tailored to the specific needs of WTGNC and LGBTQ+ individuals. These initiatives are designed not only to provide technical skills training but also to foster a supportive community where individuals can share their experiences, build confidence, and develop professionally. By collaborating with local LGBTQ+ organizations, we ensure that our efforts are aligned with the community's needs and amplify their voices within the tech sector.
Building a Brighter Future Together
By actively engaging with and supporting underrepresented communities, we are working toward a tech industry that reflects a diverse range of perspectives and experiences. At Asana, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive, grow, and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable world.
Asana's unwavering dedication to equitable hiring and community empowerment stands as a beacon of hope and progress in Poland. Together, we can create a technology sector where everyone, regardless of their background, can be themselves and achieve their fullest potential.
