The way the world works is evolving and Asana, through its integration with Microsoft Teams, gives teams the tools they need to securely collaborate, communicate, and coordinate their work, from anywhere. That’s why we’re excited to deepen our collaboration with Microsoft, and announce the launch of our new and improved Asana for Microsoft Teams integration.

Announcing Asana’s collaboration with Microsoft

Together, Asana and Microsoft have co-created a suite of offerings for teams, helping our mutual customers simplify their work and stay connected. Through deep integrations between Asana and Microsoft’s suite of productivity solutions, teams can communicate, coordinate, and collaborate more effectively.

Together, Asana and Microsoft give teams the confidence to plan, organize, and execute their most ambitious work.

The new and improved Asana for Microsoft Teams integration

Staying connected and organized is always important, but remote connection has become an integral part of our work as many teams continue to work while distributed. In addition to our expanded collaboration with Microsoft, we’re excited to announce a more powerful and robust Microsoft Teams integration. With the Asana for Microsoft Teams integration, conversations in Teams can take place side by side with your Asana projects.

With the new Asana for Microsoft Teams integration, you can easily:

  • Translate Teams conversations into action items in Asana, so you never lose track of an idea.

  • See Asana tasks, projects, Portfolios, and status updates within Teams. Bring your important work directly into your conversations, and keep collaborators in Teams updated about important progress happening in Asana.

  • Search for Asana tasks within Teams. Share context from Asana with your stakeholders, directly in Teams.

  • Set custom notifications related to your Asana projects in the Teams channel of your choosing, and receive important notifications in your own My Tasks privately. Tailor your notification preferences so that you follow all the relevant information you need in Asana, without leaving Teams.

Asana & Microsoft are connecting teams

Asana integrates with a suite of Microsoft tools to ensure that your team can coordinate work effectively across your most essential tools. Try our Asana for Outlook integration to turn emails into trackable, actionable work. Or, easily attach files from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft SharePoint to Asana tasks with the Microsoft OneDrive integration. The Power Automate integration lets you streamline repetitive processes between your Microsoft applications and Asana.

Asana makes our email volume much less because our communication about tasks and projects takes place directly in Asana. The Microsoft Office integration enables a smooth transition from old to new. This is how we ensure that everyone is up to date with the tasks that affect them, no matter which way they come to us.”

Asana Business customers can take advantage of the Asana for Power BI integration to build custom dashboards based on Asana inputs, and layer on additional insights from other business tools in order to share a complete team snapshot. Additionally, Asana Enterprise customers can add the Microsoft Azure Active Directory integration to easily manage user access, provision user accounts, and enable single sign-on with Asana.

Try these integrations and more, to learn how Asana and Microsoft are connecting teams
